Paper Plate Chick

Looking for a fun craft to make with your little ones this Easter? Why not try this cute paper plate chick? He looks adorable and is super simple to make. All you need is the free printable template, some colour paper and a paper plate! You could even colour the template in with markers or pencils.

To make your paper plate chick you will need the following craft supplies:

Supplies

  • Paper Plate Chick Template
  • Printer
  • Colour paper
  • White paper
  • Paper plate
  • Yellow paint
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors

Step 1

To make your paper plate chick, place your plate top side up and paint or colour in your plate yellow (or any colour you would prefer).

Step 2

While your plate is drying, download and print the template on white paper.

Step 3

Using scissors cut out each of the template pieces. If colouring in your template, colour in each of the pieces before cutting out.

Step 4

Trace around each of the template pieces on the colour paper of your choice. Using scissors, cut out each of the pieces.

Your pieces should look similar to the ones below.

Step 5

Start putting your chick together. Using a glue stick, glue the large white eyes down first.

Step 6

Now add the black pupils.

Step 7

To make your beak, fold the orange diamond in half and glue the bottom triangle to the centre of the plate.

Step 8

Add your chick’s feet to the bottom of the paper plate.

Step 9

Glue your chick’s wings to both sides of his body, let them hang slightly off the plate.

Step 10

Finally glue the little tuft of hair to the top of the plate. Place glue on the bottom front section of the hair and attach to the back of the plate.
